What would be really cool, is in all the littled unused boxes in the effect return channels, let us have "clips" of automation. :)

just output the sends audio to an empty audio track the exact same way it adds an extra track but will work the exact same way. ;)

if you don't get what I'm saying:

make a new audio track for this project(becomes audio track 3) in a send route the audio output to track 3, set track 3's monitoring to in and stick autiomation clips for effects in there....

I like midi dummy clips more cause I don't use audio clips at all. I do live performances so I strictly use midi instruments due to the fact that it's more dynamic and any parameter can be changed on the go.... you do this the same way except the effects reside on the same track as the midi instrument and the dummy track will send midi to the midi track with effects.

RIGHT.

anybody seen the gridlok project for logic pro?

whole bunch of regions with diffferent shaped modulations at different speeds

eg, a line of triangles at 1/1 1/2 1/4 1/8 1/16 etc.

or squares etc

practical use to automate anything without the painstaking task of writing them in each time - drag and drop.

would it be possible to get this together for dummy clips? a nice big collection of dummy clips that do just that??????

I'm up for making a start if someone can point me in the right direction ort wants to join in( gonna check the dummy clip tutorial now so i know where i am with this)

any takers?

This is a really good idea actually. The Zebra 2 synth has an add-on called Transmission which contains a boatload of tempo-synched patterns in different shapes and sizes that you can use in the synth's user-definable enveolope generator.

It definitely makes working with this kind of stuff A LOT quicker.

Not sure if any of the content providers for Ableton (puremagnetik, cov ops, etc.) have come with something similar. If not.......why not?

Because it's very easy to do it yourself.
Create your dummy clips with the envelope shapes you want and then drag them to the browser to save as a live clip.

The link on the first thread no longer works, I would like to know more about it, Is there a redirection to get that link?

I use MIDI dummy clips a lot, didn't know about audio dummy clips...

Fuck. I've now posted those dummyclip vid links twice today only to find out they don't work. Here, try this one.

Tom Cosm put together a great vid reviewing his setup. I think there's a dummyclip section in here. If not, I give up.

The links of the original posts are long gone. I wrote this years ago. But the videos on the CovOps site should load. At least they load over here..
