I wish I would have more confidence in this type of device because I think this is actually a very handy solution when you're missing just one midi port.
It can make way more sense than adding one more full-blown midi interface to your gear, or replace your current one for a bigger one etc...

My experience isn't positive at all with these, and they were actually known to be unreliable "back in the days".
Maybe things have changed and improved since then; maybe I should read some reviews and try recent stuff.
