11's a dog...at least on my end.
Oof! Harsh!

Have you tried the usual rounds of voodoo like Reset Live, and reset Mac PRAM and SMC Reset etc? Might be worth a crack.

Yes. Do pram zap and hardware reset if I hope maybe it'll do something, lol. But whats this reset Live thing?

I see in my mail that I did send a crash report to Ableton back in mid january when a I got this new hanging on launch phenomenon... hanging on 'initializing the application'. I'd force quit out of that. I also have Live 10 and see if that would happen with it and it would launch fine. And as I said, I'd trash 11's prefs and it would be able to launch...until the next crash etc. Whaddya think they told me to do..... trash prefs, lol.

It could be anything though... maybe a plugin. I dunno if Live has anything like Logic's plugin manager which would tell me if a plugin doesn't validate. 11 would crash when I'm messing around with some soft synth, but then the other day I got the beachball just renaming a clip. Not that naming is a bug,,, it's just some random thing that 11 will decide to cause a crash

Reset Live - it’s mostly trashing prefs and a couple of other things: https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/artic ... eset-Live-

I’d suspect a plugin, too. That’s the first suspect for a crash/hang at launch. But maybe it’s just you’re starting to push things a little bit on a 2012 computer with a 2017 OS running 2022 software… they’re all just about as far out of sync as they can be… That said, I was running a 2011 MBP on High Sierra with Live 10 up until 2019 with no problems.
