There's a new 12.2 beta, soon to be released as final version.
For anyone using the beta, did they fix these crash issues ?
Downgrade to Ableton 12.1.5
Re: Downgrade to Ableton 12.1.5
I must say after one initial crash at the beginning after installing 12.1.10 it´s been rock solid on my Macbook M3 Max running Sonoma. Been doing music for hours for the last days and it didn´t crash once.

On my system, it was only crashing when using specific M4L mapping devices, like "Midi Hub". It was stable when not using them.
Be careful and test this version with some similar M4L devices.

Not sure why, but I was suffering more and more crashes on my present project - after 4 in half an hour this morning, I bit the bullet and loaded up the new beta - no crashes since then in maybe 4 hours of work - fingers crossed . .

Did you use M4L devices in the sessions that crashed ?mpmusicny2 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 3:25 pmNot sure why, but I was suffering more and more crashes on my present project - after 4 in half an hour this morning, I bit the bullet and loaded up the new beta - no crashes since then in maybe 4 hours of work - fingers crossed . .
And do you use M4L devices in the sessions that don't crash now with the 12.2 beta ?
Just curious...
Re: Downgrade to Ableton 12.1.5
Nightmare. 12.2.b9 - b11 reminds me of the Live 8 / 9 shitshow. Whole UI is sluggish and GPU rendering on my Win 10 workstation is crashing Live every 5mins due to GPU memory issues (at least the dmp files indicates that)
Without GPU rendering I get 1-2 random crashes per hour. Also while Exporting... This has never happened in 18 years using Ableton. But they made it possible....
Really frustrated. No response by the beta team for my reports. More annoying most VST3 plugins lose their plugin settings after recovery. This was also no issue before 12.2. Plugin version did not change on my workstation.
So Ableton is playing how to get the user most ragging here.
