If your going to look at the fish fillets compressor try their dual (fixed band) compressor endorphin.
Also (haven't got the link - at work) TBT's pocket limiter is excellent, as are all of TBT's plugins.

Having tested them side by side, I prefer the Kjaerhus GOlden EQ GEQ-7 and Golden Compressor GCO-1 to any of the Waves alternatives...
Their UniPressor and Peak Pressor are also outstanding compressors/limiters.

I like Waves L3 best on final mixes, good for beefing up tracks in a transparent way.

A single instance of Firium on the master bus chews up about 2-3% cpu on my G5 iMac 1.8 Ghz.

Izotope Ozone is what i use on a day to day - tweak what i'm working on stuff.
Tracks ain't bad...
For finished stuff - I go with Waves -
The PSP stuff is decent and Neodyum is good too...
in the past month or so I've been doing shit like throw a stomp'n effects eq foot pedal into the tracks needing eq. Something I like about the graphic eq sliders convention and the sound is good...
and yes the Live compressor and saturator make appearances fairly regularly
