Does anyone have problems like these with the BIOS with Acer Travelmates?

I'm getting the 8104 this week and i was just wondering

right click on your desktop select properties. under screensaver there are power options in this select always on and that will turn your speedstep off..

ANY IDEAS???
Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Power Profile. Choose "Always On".

There are also third party apps that lets you have a much better control over your power profile, ie you might want the CPU at 100%, but don't mind dimming the screen or disabling network/wireless.

Windows gives you all of that.

You can set your profiles to change whether you're plugged in or on battery. Set what happens when you close the screen.... hit power, hit suspend... you can set times for hard drives to turn off automatically.... for the screen to turn off.... you can set screen brightness level for on battery & on power.. so it will switch automatically when you unplug or plug in.
