The guy was honest to begin with, that's A LOT MORE of what you usually see on internet forums. Give him a break, drop you ego, and let live.

Dont listen to these guys calling you bad things, they need to chill down and are pissed because they cant make any good music. You do not need to reformat before using your legal version.
Its a nice box!

Mr. John. Sorry for the hostility. These folks get caught up in their Ableton Pedistal propping. I, like you and MANY others have gotten to know software through ill-conceived means, only to purchase the software later. I think Ableton has built this into their software since the krak works for a few months and then breaks soley due to their programming in this function. Back in the day, I bought Cubase, only to discover that it was buggier, and harder to fix, than my friend's krak version. If I HAD used the krak version, even with its superior stability, I would have never bought it or used it past a few weeks. Suck-ass mistake on my part paying for shit software. Then I got a krak of ReBirth. Loved it. Bought Reason the day it came out, and every version since. And helped my friends discover Reason as well,, basically selling around 6 serial numbers due to one ReBirth krak. I'm sure the Props know stuff like this happens (and the Abs for that matter) and it doesn't gurt their feelings too much. But I digress.
But I'm sure these zealots have never downloaded a single illegal MP3, VST, program, font or game. So they have all the right in the world to criticize us that have...
Anyways, welcome, Mr. John

Yeah,
I am another legit Ableton user who discovered it through the crack ... would not have bought it if I had not had the chance to use it properly for a bit. That was version 3 ... I've bought every upgrade since.
The whole ethical issue of using cracks is one thing, the reality is that a LOT of people use cracked s/w, almost all producers I know do, some people I know are more shocked that i've actually bought some software than that I used a crack.
This is the digital age people, you'll never stop the hackers and crackers and pirates ... just accept it and you'll have less to stress about and more energy to make good music!!

Same for me, I've bought Live 3 just before version 4 came, and bought operator aswell, and sarted to buy "all" the software I use... And since then a lot of problems dissapeared... and got support aswell!, by the way... abes are not like other companies, they do answer your mails reasonably soon, might say... (did you hear that NI?!)
I also have a PBppk G4, no probs at all. Wellcome mate... and STAY CLEAN!

you'll feel better!
cheers.
G.

but be warned, Mr. John. This forum can and will turn on those that are themselves aggressive, without much apology. Look to Wyldstyle or DJ Retard/MythHealer/16 Bit for examples of dick-like behavior that brought out the hounds.
Understand that though we all don't agree on most things, as long as we remain civil and respectful, its all good. And, if someone seems to be baiting you into a flame war, just walk away... silence doesn't mean you lost the argument, just that you won't be taking part in one.
Oh, and don't say you like Sasha, even if you do...

or like Mac vs. PC. Or are a Conservative Hatemonger. Or think High-count posters are all jerks. Or that you are "the most published user on this forum".
Folks get TESTY really quick.

true!
This is defiinitely still one of if not the best forum around for music software - for some reason Live seems to have always attracted some pretty cool people, but of course it's becoming alot more popular now so there's alot more people adding their bit and inevitibly that comes at a price....
one newbie poster almost managed to get rid of probably the single highest contributor to this forum by being a total wanker, but most people made it known they werent having it and the guy has backed off since...

Can we all just get a group hug, maybe grab a beer oh and I think I can get us some Sasha tickets..! he's my hero..
(Please note the above statement is in no way endorsed by Ableton)
Freaky...
P.S welcome to the forum, let battle commence...lol
P.P.S In my humble opinion, a nice honest post. Cracks maybe the spawn of digital Satan in some peoples eyes, but if its purely try before you buy and leads to you bending the credit card...wheres the harm...? Demos can suck like a Vampire who never flossed, unless you have 3 days straight to test out all the facilities.
P.P.P.S what do all the 'P',s mean...?

P.P.P.P.P.S where exactly did the confusion arise in the original post in regards the possibility of our new Abletonian fishing for hacking secrets....????
Hidden message...?
Maybe a Da Vinciesque hidden code...?
Looked like a perfectly honest post to me...., but then again...I am British..
