Sorry for beeing offtopic.
For me the best music was made already in the past, by James Stinson, to bad he died.
James was the man behind Drexciya, japanese telecom and many others.
I think he had also something to do with doppler effect, glass domain and such.
He made the best music since a long long time, i heard nothing that can compete, well and thats ok, music is not about competing anyway, music is no football match.
James took electronics to another level, music with a message, fantasy, a concept, well thought about and well produced.
He fought his own battle with his music, no major no promotion, his own thing, music went its way by it self, true undergroundisch.
Seldom he did a interview, for him it was not the man behind the music that counts its about the music it self.
Hail to that.
James R.I.P u were a true inspirator for me and many others.

i love that shit more than any other music i've heard in my life. It has been a bigger influence and inspiration to me than anything.
no true electronic music lover should have his stuff missing from their collection.

Wow, gorgeous. I've heard Carsten Nicolai live a few times and he is always astounding. Sawako is a new name to me, also digging this. Adding this to the list of stuff to get, thanks subbbasshead.
Maybe it's not considered electronica anymore (maybe never was) but Jaga (formerly Jaga Jazzist) made a storming album this year, and the live show was just as powerful.

What about the continually brilliant releases and remixes from Trentemoller and Lindstrom/Prins Thomas? Also a brilliant ambient album from Felix Leband on Compost...

yeah, he probly isn't but its all drexciyan related. I'm not sure who's involved in what projects. There's a few of them.

Checkin Drexciya out now, and yeah its kinda like underwater Kraftwerk with the bass turned UP! Pretty F-in sweet.
If were also mentioning pre 05 albums then I would like to shout out my love for Techno Animal's entire back catalog. All I'm missing is their singles and the John Spencer Blues Explosion remixes. Kevin Martin's solo project The Bug- Pressure and Taping the Conversation are must haves. The entire Scorn back catalogue sends shivers up my spine as well.
