Actually this issue would be solved if there was a checkbox in settings like "Resume play / Play from start" that would affect spacebar and push play button. I press Shift + Spacebar more often than Spacebar. It is also would be a great feature to have an option in context menu to place start of clip on 1.1.1.

Hi there. My solution for this is PowerToys Keyboard manager to replace the space button with "Shift+Space". Works great.

I made this. It isn't a physical button on the Ableton GUI, but I demonstrate how you can route the momentary midi pause button which is CC 27 on the Roland A Pro series to have logic which directly corresponds to a complete pause button as expected in Ableton. And the code can theoretically be applied to any midi remote script which is compatible with python, which is most of them if not all I believe. Please enjoy!
