My first perfomance
Like others have said.... practice practice practice. One thing i would add though is to do at least one of those practice runs in front of a couple friends. I find that if I can perform satisfactorily in front of a couple friends, then a room full of strangers is no problem. Also, when performing try to make eye contact with people, they'll feel like your performance is more engaging.
good luck,

One question: did you pay for those stickers on your speakers?
If you have done something wrong then offending to others is not the best way to defend yourself, you little idiot.

I guess everyone here has said the most important points. Some great advice here. Stopping in the middle of the set is a NO-NO. This is an important point. And remember, if you fuck it up, most people won't even notice. They are too drunk/stoned/looking at the chicks to notice, hehehehe
.
Bring extra cables, lots of adapters, duct tape, a flashlight. Try to have a sound check before the gig, as many have said here, what sounded one way on your studio might end up sounding totally different on the venue, due to acoustic issues, mono PA, crappy speakers, whatever. If it's your first gig, i'd advice you to be sober, after a few minutes and you relax, maybe you could light up your joint, and have lots of fun; IF YOU HAVE FUN, PEOPLE WILL NOTICE, AND WILL EVENTUALLY ENJOY WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
Double check you have everything before you leave home, make a list. Don't forget power adapters and the like.
...And remember ye ol' KISS principle: Keep It Simple, Stupid.
Best of lucks.

Turn up the radio. Turn up the tape machine. Look into the sunset up ahead. Roll the windows down for a better taste of the cool desert wind. Ah yes. This is what it's all about. Total control now.
Yea , thank you too. I have already gone to a frined's house and played there my set to listen it through other speakers and in another room.scotty wrote:Like others have said.... practice practice practice. Thank you too, nice post. You there in latin america make somthing funny easier than here in europe...
i wish the best ...
Ok Then . I am exhausted back home.
Everyhting was good. The sound really was weird in some parts , but about that part i thought it was crapy evrybody told me it was amazing.
Anyways i posted here to say again a thank you to everyone of you who supprted me with few words and advices.
I wish the best in your perfomances .
There was a guy playing before me and he had opened 16 audio channels (!!!@##%&&*) with a 87 % in cpu.
As i saw him i calmed down and i was not anymore anxious for the result...
thank you again fellows

save your tracks as .wav files and play them in winamp. while the crowd jumps around to your tunes (hopefully) you can play solitaire and occasionally twiddle a knob on your midi knob box
the most importan thing is that you NEED a midi knob box
people come to shows to see knob twiddling, give them what they want.
i'm sorry if this has already been suggested but i couldn't be arsed to read the rest of this thread.. :p
