The world of electronic dance music is not ruled by one god but many gods of different strengths and weaknesses.

But the head of all the gods is James Brown .... HIT MEH !!! ::gets on the good foot::
Every situation(1) should be confronted with its opposite(2) to come to a better situation(3).

1 Thesis
2 Antithesis
3 Synthesis

aphex twin - no, on so many levels

vibert on the other hand

Kraftwerk open air... Something i haven't experienced yet.
Now there's a good example of influence for Live performing.
These guys been at it for over 2 decades.
And they're still the hottest act.
I can't even begin to imagine how to sync my mind, with 3 other people. Let alone the whole dancefloor....

Question: Who would you consider the most influential

I would have to say Richard D. James (Aphex Twin)

There is no one in particular to name, i name the ones who influenced me, cuz electronic music is a contant fusion.

For instant, people name Aphex twin.
Well do the math, kraftwerk + eno + ministry + the latinrascals + x + x + x formed aphex twin.

How the hell did I forget Todd Terry - when it comes to HOUSE the man was definately refered to as "God" in a hell of alot of production circles.

Love Baby Ford also - Ooochy Koochy is still an all time dancefloor favourite of mine :).

what about going further back to those who first used electronics in music like stockhausen

also what about putting spin on this

is influence just from artists as without those who make the instruments and software what would the artists use so i say moog etc.

as influential I would understand people who have turned on other musicians to electronic music.

Kraftwerk is the most obvious and probably the most accessible
Jean Michel Jarre 2 first albums

Popcorn
Moroder I feel love

before that Wendy carlos' soundtrack of Kubrick's movie A clockwork orange

But also Klaus Schulze, tangerine dream. the virgin label.

I would say all these have in common a mixture of electronic AND musicality which is not the case of most the new generation of electronic gurus.

Dont forget old jazz and r&b , without these rythems there would be no Numbers song made by Kraftwerk.
