I, being an enlightened Muslim, will tell you that we're all god, as god is everything and everyone. God is especially present in a sweet piece of music so serene that you find tears in your eyes. (Ok, so maybe I'm a gay enlightened Muslim. Maybe they should make Brokeback Mecca?)

I'll also say that the creator of the heavens and the earth is so absolute and powerful, that he doesn't give two shits about some bacteria he created called the human race. And therein lies the true flaw of most organized religions...they are all too self-important to think that God has the time to worry about all of us.

I will now go back to praying that I win this week's Lottery, because I'm sure She's listening.

There are three types of suffering:
suffering caused by ourselves
suffering caused by other living entities (inculdes other people and virii, animals, etc....)
suffering caused by "nature", or "acts of god"

all manifestations of suffering are horrifying and baffling...
"god" created suffering
"god" created music and dance
stick with the music and dancing, try to stay ignorant of the suffering as much as possible...

ignorance is bliss

A lot of us spend too much of our lives pursuing knowledge, and not enough time pursuing wisdom. We wrongly accept the notion that knowledge can keep us safe, bring us success, etc. Often it leaves us with more questions than we even started with. We become tired, stressed, and burdened.

Wisdom, meanwhile, can surely help us to discover and respond to the natural contours of life and find our god.

Who? I know next to nothing about scientology, and have very little confidence in the idea that anyone in this day and age could come up with any original timeless wisdom

The point I was making is basically informed by my Taoist leanings. Did L.Ron copy those ideas?

I think that scientology is more based on star trek then Taoist learnings.
There's only little i know about this so-called religion. But look it up on Wiki. It'll give you a chuckle..

Anyways, I thought that muslims believed christ was a prophet, he just didn't transcribe the actual words of god. To quote the wiki article on islam:

And you're correct, Muslims do believe that Christ was a prophet. Which is why I wonder as to why so many people have died over this little misconception...it's not even a disagreement...*sigh*

This is going to sound like a bunch of pseudo-science hippie rubbish, but I honestly believe that part of it is genetic. I think that humans intrinsically descriminate against one another and align themselves into groups for survival. Part of it is "safety in numbers", but another part of it involves systematically eliminating other groups of humans. Thereby, evolution ensued and the human race developed over time.

I think that ironically, the genetic traits which have allowed us to survive so well also endanger our ability to survive in the future. Regardless, I think that it's fair to say that there's a pretty fair amount of jungle still left in the monkey.

Christians can't even agree on the nature of Christ, they've been fighting each since He was nailed to the cross over whether he is God or the son of God and all other dumb details.

Making them like every other religion I've ever read or heard about.
