Live 7's comp is soo much better than the previous versions too, they did a nice job updating it this time.

Mastering is about MUCH, MUCH more than just EQ and Compression.
Like what exactly?

Good question..
IMHO these are the only tools required.. it is just the "How to" , the "Which one to use" & the "When to use" that makes up the "much more".

But then again I could be wrong..there are other tools available like Reverb, Exciter... come to think of it any if not all effects processing can still be used depending on what needs to be acheived.

So, IMO Mr. Tarekith is right...there is lot more.

Yeah, well, i'm not a real mastering engineer by any stretch of the imagination, so when i'm asked or hired to do it, I don't do anything off the wall or imaginative.

I just use light eq and dynamics to taste.

I think I'm pretty good for the level i'm at though. I did a "live" (meaning real drums bass and guitar w/ electronic assistance) hip hop record for these guys grand ultimate in brooklyn, and they got samples from several expensive pros and picked my sample over theirs. so uh. yeah. I'm awesome.
