pcr-30 or Radium midi controller?
I really like the Valve set, which is what made me want the Machinedrum. I'd like one piece of hardware as a backup if the laptop crashes.

Well, you can assign keys to play samples or scenes, but you can't play like a synth - unless you go crazy and assign pitched samples to keys.
