Shit man..... I bet you are right. That really is such a drag. I'd also bet that half of them get all pissed off and cover up their records when people come up to train-spot. All of that stuff really burns me up (and I DJ). I feel that in 99.9% of the cases there is absolutely no reason for that crap.

The artist who made the record deserves recognition, their work is not some "secret weapon".

I recently grabbed a pretty banging set by Troy Pierce, but was pretty irritated because he refused to release the playlist. I was like, thats bullshit and bashed that mentality on a public forum. Turns out that a lot of the tracks were either unreleased or unsigned and the artists requested that he not release the playlist. That is really the only valid reason I can see for a dj not divulging what they are playing.

Anyway, totally agree. A lot of aspects of Dj culture really annoy the hell out of me and I totally agree with your statement on the dance music scene in general that you made earlier.

I would say that there are some duplicate channels in there. Also there are bound to be adjacent channels with segments of tracks/pre set loops (???). Also does Sasha not remix a lot of folks music with live like he did on the involver album? This would also explain why you may want to colour code certain aspects. To be honest, fuck knows.

i know exactly how much sasha gets per gig and you could buy a pretty decent car for that sum of money.

I'm not a big fun of Sasha.
But as far as I know, his gigs sound quality is pretty good as well as other named dj compare to opening act.

It is always obvious whether or not he spins because of that.
( I can tell the choice of songs anyway though).

Is the main reason of the sound quality his engineer?

About the everything being set to A on the xfade......

I believe he does this so that crossfading leaves only the effects sends in
the mix, while fading back brings back in the uneffected sound of the
tracks...... u know how he over-uses those big wet mix delay swells....
