My post must have REALLY upset you...
what NOT to do... classic ableton pitfalls
For "Live Live" :
1. Always put a vintage warmer on the final output - and don't use premastered loops. Two loops that are individually mastered and of course 2006 dance db maximized (oh I'm so bitter) - don't go well together. Be sure to put a limiter with make-up gain on the final output. That'll save your ass when it comes to accidental clipping as well....
oh right it was don'ts...
don't forget to talk into the microphone once in a while, make them know how you're feeling - group hypnotize them into loving you and thereby your music... and then form a cult...
don't forget to put some tape on your laptop powerplug. Every place with a possible possibility for power-dislodgement - tape it up. Make sure NOTHING can get torn out or fall out by accident. Same thing goes for controller and soundcard usb plugs. I've got a friend who accidently got his power yanked out in the middle of a set... his midicontroller dit not come back online during the set.
don't trust that your set is good - have others listen to it.
don't trust that your sound is good - listen on other speaker pairs.
don't trust people on forums...
don't forget to call you mother.
