it's kind of sad that this was originally three songs, those songs must be pretty weak without putting them all together but they don't really sound that great as a 'mega mix'

the songs as they stand, are fine on the album because you have no idea that they to be combined. So, you accept what you hear as Tool tracks. The more ambient one is the last track on the album, so you kind of just expect that you are chilling out to the last track....like a lot of albums do.

I personally think Aenima was their peak, their largest mark, similar to how I see NINs downward spiral...or The Doors, the Doors, Metallica, metallica, Portishead, portishead...
