i have read about six issues of Grooves and i really get confused by the articles. they really build up any artist they cover and describe them with a vast array of adjectives and when i go to listen to them, they hit me like a brick wall. the music is good. the writing i feel is misleading in a way. sorry i can't give any specific examples off the top of my head. but the 'experimental' in the subtitle says a lot. imo.tjwett wrote:surprised no one mentioned Grooves, awesome mag covering a lot of non-pop stuff and gear etc. i like Mix and Sound on Sound as well. the two big british mags (Future, Computer) are just too geared toward beginners to be much fun, not for $15 per issue.
I somehow got a subscription to de:bug and it was like being in Hell. I don't spoeak German, so when the issue would come, I would pore over the pictures and desprately pick out the few English words I could find. The rest was a mystery. I wish there was an English language version.Nikolaus wrote:in german: "de:bug"
