basic rundown anyone of what it does?

Yeh, if I could strip away MacOS from a macbook pro and just use Windoze, I'd probably buy one.... :)

I like the hardware of those mac lappies but am not a great fan of the OS.
couldnt be easier to do.. throw your windows cd in and take over the whole partition.. if u want to run any OS Windows Mac or Linux and that OS only of course you can do that on any Macintel
No shit? Ah well, back to looking at those hilarious scams of Macbooks from China on ebay........for 200 bucks.... 8O

Thanks for the tip!

They look like they found "the real OS..."
Hehehe. If you've ever used Linux, though, you'd know how big of a deal Ubuntu is. It really is for human beings...
Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

i went from windows 95, to windows XP ...when I saw the spec of the laptop I was salivating, imagining what kind of performance I'd get. Then powered it up and realised [a] XP sucks alot of juice just being on laptops 'bottleneck' performance due to heat/battery issues.

so ya...just a mode for stripping all the bullshit away, and just zoning into whatever apps you need to run this way.

fuck widgets.
i havent even looked for any useful ones, and please dont tell me about any

the "xp tuning tips" at www.musicxp.net helped me get down to about 20 processes running in task manager. Turning off automatic updates, screen savers, power savers, and system restore also helped. If you want to go "strictly Live", I think it was sweetjesus who made a shell that you can boot into that basically has Live and essential window processes running, thats it.
Dell Studio XPS 8100 Windows 7 64-bit, 10 GB RAM. RME Multiface, Avalon U5 & M5, Distressor, Filter Factory, UC33e, BCR-2000, FCB1010, K-Station, Hr 824 & H120 sub, EZ Bus, V-Drums, DrumKat EZ, basses, guitars, pedals... http://www.ryan-hughes.net

honestly though, I know I've said this alot here but I'm managing fine without all those tweaks - in fact auto update is far more useful on than off

I never really found all those tweaks that useful and contrary to the thing I read once about "what if you're recording the guitar solo of your life and system restore comes on..." nothing like that has ever happened to me

I only have an athlon 2200 and I dont find the tweaks to really help enough to bother
