How to install skins on Windows XP:
Go to your ableton installation dir
for example: C:\Program Files\Ableton\Live 5.2\Resources\Skins
and copy there .ask file
Then choose in ableton Your new skin.
That's all

In mac, ctrl + click on the Live app icon and choose "Show package contents"
There, go to Contents/App-Resources/Skins and put the .ask file there
