Trinidad & Tabago showed up (at least their keeper did) though on defense.

So far, England really has impressed me with strong defense. Of course Trinidad was the most impressive team by holding Sweden scoreless but in terms of contenders, England out of the gate looks strong.
:P :P :P

BTW, That's Trinidad and Tobago
Right.

So how many of US,konwn for"don't know anything about soccer"

England weren't looking like World Cup winners, thankfully.

The Argentina-Ivory Coast game was excellent though.

I've been drinking since 9am this morning, damn this world cup business!!!

Glad to hear that some of you in the US are watching the Beautiful tournament... i'll be in New York for the first knock out round and am hoping to find a suitable pub to watch England cruise through into the quarter finals... and then spend the rest of the time enjoying NYCs many delights..

Of course.

What I forget is how they re-seed after the first round.

Those bit torrents are a godsend, a guarantee that I won't get anything done at work.

Yeah, I'm here in the states, (Ohio, not TOO far from New York) and I'm hooked. Obviously rooting for USA but, I also I'm a big Croatia fan (my ancestory) and I like Spain and England as well...

I think England was just playing tight yesterday. I don't understand why everyone is up in arms about it. They will show a much better attack next game. There defense didn't give up anything and didn't reallly get challenged.

I don't have any idea what to expect from the US though. I don't think a lot of people really do. We have a capable squad, but when I saw them scrimage Venezula (we won 2-0) a few weeks ago we didn't look good at all. Sloppy passes, bad looks, etc. We better be ready for Czech Republic or it's going to be a short stay in Germany for us...

Yeah man, England were playin tight. Doing what they had to despite the weather.

Jescola havin a pop at England was unfounded; at the end of the day, England has far better weather than Scotland; they couldn't even qualify, let alone play in 30 degrees

England all the way.

U know

Seconded.
I have friends in London who'll leave the country if England win :D

I find that a little strange - friends living in London who will leave if England win?

so, they are in England, presumably surrounded by English , but if England win they will leave.

If they are the usual chip on shoulder type - then why are they living in England? It's like being stuck-record about WW2 and moving to Berlin to do your moaning.

Hey, they must really hate the English these friends of yours!
They sound great.

I'd love to reciprocate and boo the Scottish team in an International sometime, but sadly I love to support the underdogs.
When present
blah blah blah Just read this, I missed this post earlier. Calm down man, it's only a sport. You're not sounding like you're a lot of fun yourself coming on all heavy after a throw-away comment.

Chill out a wee bit man...
