if anything they need to vastly improve the midi options for quanitzing and just the feel of the whole thing....

i love live but i think the midi sucks...logic is hands down the best midi sequencer on earth..imo

Some of my mates squatted the Jacaranda during the early late 80's and early 90's as it had been closed up for years. They turned it into a 'squat rock' venue and decorated the walls with 'outsider art' - IE stoned person scrawlings.

the tour bus used to come by every day, "Helloo tour bus!" waved the frightening squat scum.

Anyway...
when Liverpool began to upgrade in the late 90's and the Jacaranda was bought and redeveloped into a "Beatles' first venue" themed bar - they made sure they kept all the 'John Lennon's drawings' they found on the basement walls.. where he used to hang out. hmmm

It was like a forensic reconstruction of precious 16th C art.
Somehow they didn't notice it was all done with fat-tip marker and poster paint mixed with latex.

how are they going to improve live 5?

Need to be able to scrub in the clip preview

Need to add pitch nudge buttons for DJs

Dual view Wave displays would be nice (again, for DJs) so you can see 2 waveforms at once

Dual monitor support would be cool(Session View on one screen, Arrange on the other)

Is that a Mark Rein quote I see?
Mark Rein?
He's the president of Epic Games, that "two weeks" thing was a longtime catchphrase of his whenever people asked for release dates.

I hope it has some kind of function that stops people saying looking at me like I am insane when I tell them what I use.

"really, Ableton Live ? Not Logic ?"

No, not Logic, Ableton Live.

can they make that happen with 6, some sort of 'audio community perceptual logical parity function'

it would save me half an hour of my life most weekends.

quicktime video playback (if u dont want this, comment on an existing thread)

5.1 panning & busing... or at least quad panning.. (ditto)

a few more shortcuts
eg 1 stroke keyboard shortcut to display volume automation on ALL tracks

support for CM motormix (mine is still gathering dust)

& from what Mr Monolake demonstrated with that beautiful ambient piece, deeper generative controls/follow actions/control structure...

Get the boxed version and slap a sticker over their mouth. They just don't know any better.

well, after a good deal of hounding, one the Ableton's finally gave in and revealed some of the mystery to me...

apparently, and this is a direct quote: "it does not make coffee, nor it does tell the future (yet)"
