sebastian...if your looking to get your tracks mastered by a pro one day....like mike holiday said....save your set as self contained.....but not only that...make sure that you record all your vst's as audio..i mean everything!....you dont know how many times i've lost tracks.....even when i save patches and such...somehow 2 of out 10 songs always has missing parts.....it never fails....leave all your vsts in there, but just turn them off.........

For Heaven's SAKE!,...don't trade digi for presonus.

In roughly the same price range is the motu stuff.

Presonus is worse than digi hardware IMO.

I went through 3 fireboxes.......and the drivers are shite!

I'm not a motu salesman,i just like the fact that it works...And i'd feel comfortable with it on stage, so that says a lot.

this is good advice. I definitely dont want driver problems etc

From what I hear, and of course there will be differences of opinion:

-Stay away from M Audio cards, cheap
-Stay away from Presonus, problematic
-RME great (but company too small and Im burned out on Aardvark card I had and its company disappearing
-MOTU- dont know enough
-Digi 002 - mixed reviews, expensive

Keep in mind I have a Mac

Im going to the store this weekened even though Im not a big fan of the salespeople because they are always busy and often tell you what you want to hear

I never record severall msucians at the same time so amount of inputs looks good enough on Ultralite

what is the word on it, people like it? no driver problems etc?

Cand it be considered up there with RME?

Believe, RME is on another level the the late Aardvark.

Great support, classic units. It's hard to see the company fading out.

Just a more than satisifed user opinion.

what about Tascam stuff?
