Norton and McAfee are worse than the viruses they supposedly protect against. There's better alternatives out there, and some are even free.Guest wrote:or you can pay $70 for norton anti-virus, surf at ease, have no problems with your system (i haven't even done the updates and don't have a reason to).
Macs are definitely being targeted more for various exploits; in fact, Apple even recommends to run an antivirus these days.I understand that mac users hate windows and jump on ANY opportunity to dis it (probably 'cause your bitter that Live works SO much better on a pc), but the fact is that many of us have no problems, we just optimize things for audio, and use the proper anti-virus stuff--its not rocket science, its actually easy, and I've had no problems, just fun. to each his own, but wholesale slagging of xp as crap, when it actually works quite well for me and others, is just a bunch of bickering and bitter bs. I bet even macs get viruses and need firewalls and protection when their on the web, don't act like macs are ablove all that.

Agreed. Since using McAfee, I have had no problems at all.Guest wrote:or you can pay $70 for norton anti-virus, surf at ease, have no problems with your system
Read my above post. Run- don't walk- to the McAfee website and download their removal tool. Use it and find another alternative.timwright wrote:Agreed. As Apple increase their desktop share, this stuff is going to become more common.
