That FW800 is a welcome "re-addition" (compared to the 15 pbook) for sure.

That particular model is probably not going to be released until the new year. The currect 160GB drives are 5400.
it's not officially shipped, get it from my macstore dealer custom made.
Nice, so seagate have made a 7200rpm 160gb hardrive for notebooks.
here's alink:

If it really is a 39 percent speed jump from the first generation CoreDuo, then this coupled with 3GB of RAM must be a massive speed jump in a relatively short period of time. My 2GHz MacBook is feeling dated already!

If anyone wants me to dance for them, it's £1400 for the hour with no refunds...

yeah, all of a sudden my computer feels pretty old, and worse of all intel really proved me wrong... never again shall i doubt intel's capacity to put out new chips in a timely fashion (i guess i'm a still used to having IBM was a supplier)

I would never buy a mac. I can get an equally if not more powerful Windows machine for less than half the price. Plus who needs a shitty little video camera on their laptops? A 5400 rpm hard drive is rubbish too. Only 2 USB ports is a joke. Don't waste your money. Buy a Windows machine. More grunt and value for money.
Yeah but a windows machine doesn't come with OS X.

Please show me a more powerful PC lappy for less than half the price???

Check craigslist in your area - you can probably catch a MacBook Pro or even a MacBook duo core (1) for a really good price TODAY

I don't see why anyone with a macbook or mb pro can feel there comp is even slightly outdated. Guys, 39% faster is nothing. The macbooks improved the powerbook performance by 4X, which i suppose would be 300% faster.

Sure there are other benefits of the new machines, but 39% does not translate into that much of extra room on the cpu meter. So any macbook is still pretty cutting edge. The big jump will happen when they put a quad core in instead of a duo core. That'll be something.

Now the 7200 rpm 160gb hard drives from seagate, now there's something to get excited about.

Hey subfunk, where's this my macstore dealer you're talking about? i couldn't find anything with a search.
