Let's resurect this one.........

uad/ tec electronics will both announce ub versions/fw compatible fx .......uad has been pci......but I just wonder......

Someone (at mac conference or namm) is going to announce the first "soft" hard drive......at least 100 gigs......no moving parts. it will resemble a dongle.....a large one, but never the less. The idea will be have your os on that and then have something else for music software, something else for storage.....etc.

ableton will not be the only music software that is pda/phone capable......er, that might already be true......I'm guessing it will be apple and that it will be GB'ish/logicxpress'ish......

Icontrol 2.....class compliant super-controller.......with motorized faders and view screen. And instead of just being logic/GB capable, it will do other mac compatible software..........especially live and PT............

Props will announce rw2.....a self adapting rewire that will "pair" itself with the host for pc and mac. Reason will have vst/au support although still will not do audio recording. But nobody will care, rw 2 will be so efficient you will faint. Ok, I'm just making that up......

I bet Korg shall have this guy @ their booth showing off their boring new hardware synths.

I mean come on korg, make something new and interesting for a change. They been humping the prophecy/Z1 technology in their synths for ages.

Umm, Oasys? My guess is we see a keyless version of this, sort of like the V-Synth XT.

If it comes in a groovebox type of layout, i will likely sell most of my gear to get one

I played with a radias in the store recently, and the step sequencer was wickedfun. It sounded good on the headphones, particularly for motion sequences and for complex modulation type sounds.

I didn't try the vocoder, but that's kind of a silly tack-on for my purposes.

I dunno, the Kaoss Pad 3 is looking pretty sweet too.

Their Kontrol 49 is argueably one of the best controller options right now, though it's a DISTANT second to the Remote SL series.

If all you're seeing in Korg is their crappy, retarded and overpriced workstation line, then I don't doubt you think they suck. Their lower end and mid range products are pretty good.

Korg have interets far beyond Joe Synth Guy. Sure, they make good change off of Microkorgs, Electribes and Padkontrols but they pay just as much attention (if not more) to the worship crowd as much as the dj crowd or rock crowd. If you want, (and it's safe to do) compare what they have been doing these last several years to what Roland has been doing. Korg has proven far more innovative. Now if they would just get rid of all those nausiating pink LEDS that shine through those rubber pads on all thier stuff...

I own and love the Legacy collection. I have access froma friend to a real MS-20 anytime I want to use one and have A/B'd them together going through Tannoy Reveal monitors.

Yeah, sure like anything else, the Legacy Collection is using virtual analog technology which is a buzz word as we all know. It's digital. The Legacy collection is designed to emulate a real MS-20 and does a fine job. Nova Musik was blowing them out with the controller for $170! I'm sure it's got to do with the collection not working for Macintel users. If you have any gripe about Korg recently, it's that they have a hap-hazard "system" in place to get the software to work on a Macintel machine. You now need a dongle installed on your machine, and have to pay a $30 license fee, plus buy a dongle that uses Synchrosoft technology for another $25.

It sucks but what are you going to do. I'm not looking to use my MS-20 controller as a paperweight. I'll pay becuase I use the Legacy collection in just about everything I write.

So yeah, I have my issues with Korg but I find them to be the best large company even if them getting involved in softsynths hasn't proved to be a smooth transition from the good ole hardware...

I have never seen an Oasys keyboard in person and I don't think I'm that interested at over $8000. For that kinda money you can buy yourself a macbook Pro, a Dave Smith Poly Evolver, whatever VSTI's you want, a set of Tannoys and still have enough money left to take your girlfreind out and keep her mind away from what you just spent the rest on...

But if you don't like what Korg is doing, forget about them for a little while and look at what other manufacturers are doing.

When Korg does release something that interests you, I'm sure you will hear about it.

A bit of a bump here, but I just read on www.clavia.se that they're releasing something at the next namm.

It is new. It is red. The countdown has begun.

Anyways, I'm always impressed with what Clavia's done. Their pitch sticks are fantastic for performance, much more expressive than a pitch wheel. Too bad they've patented that tech and won't license it to anybody else.

Anyways, any predictions?
