I should hope so.
The fact that production takes place in China says absolutely nothing about quality. Almost all goods we use today are made in China.
It's not just China. It's a small village that they built in China, specifically to manufacture their gear. Think of the old coal-mining towns built by early industry pioneers back in the 1800's....

Anyways, I've got a bit more funny industry gossip about them, but it's kinda OT so I'll keep it to myself. ;)
all i can add is that there are many reasons why i personally do not buy nor recommend behringer for all those reasons behind the company, like reverse engineering, production policies, enviromental issues and so on, but i don't want to chew it, behringer is simply one of the worsed excisting companies on the planet, not only talking audio, it's a company i say everyone should dissmiss in general because of their 'way of doing things'. and i am aware that no company is doing everything the way it should be, none of them does! but still behringer tops any other excisting greedy evil.
enough said.

I'm an engineer (of the non-musical kind) so I'll give Behringer a big fat finger. I just did a bit of reason on their design practices, and the likes of them can suck a fat one.

Anyone got a better suggestion then the Alesis M1 MKIIs (at that price point) keeping in mind my requirements?

- Must be good for producing and tracking guitars/vocals/acoustic instruments (bass is not so important)

- Must not be fatiguing, since I will be using the speakers for general listening more then I will be using them for production

- Must be in the price ball park of $500-600 AUD - that means about $300 USD approx (exchange rates don't quite work out when dealing with products sold in Australia due to stock lag, shipping etc)

- Must not be huge (I've decided that they'll sit on my desk, where there is a bit, but not a heap of room)
