hahaha

yeah, well as apple would put it is "design in california"

"manufacture in china"

Yeah i know, iwas just very angry the other day. this f/*** M-audio had me.

The projectmix is a a complete piece of shitze.
And the worst was that it was sold together with live. and together they would be a horrible performance. Good thing that the abes got away from this horrible m-audio people.

Anyway, it seems just right, i am gonna go for the Ultralite now, now doubt. specially because of all this great feedback, of live Users, and i am 100% live user, i don't even have anyother DAW installed. And i don't care.

Thanks a lot guys.

Could anyone confirm if it can PLAY BACK (2,000Hz, 8bit PCM) .wav files or (8,000Hz 4bit IMA ADPCM) .wav files?

Alot of professional I/Os will not play back extremely low bit and sample rate files, and its a big concern of mine that whatever I use CAN do so...
Only I/Os I know that can playback these sample and bit rates are the Presonus, RME and Lnyx Audio units. I'll be in the market for a new I/O shortly and this would be excellent info to know. :)
i dont think it does, don't quote me on it but i had trouble playing back some real lo-fi files. not sure if they were corrupt however...

so, if you can yousendit one or two samples, i can test them for you...
Hey mang, I emailed the files to ya... you can alternately DL it here:
http://download.yousendit.com/747E36131CCA693E

If anyone else would like to try that would be cool as well!
Alright, both the 8 and 4 bit files played back fine in Wavelab however Ableton Live could only use the 8 bit file and doesn't support 4 bit. A window pops up in Live saying that its unsopported or corrupt... (which is the same thing that happened to me when trying to use my 4 bit files a while ago)

I guess it has nothing to do with the Ultralite then...

I was asking myself the same question so thanks for the posts guys!

A lot of people wrote that they got low latency. How low do you get? I'm using Guitar Rig 2 in live context so it's a pretty important for me.

Thanks again.

THANKS A LOT
TO all of you guys who have helped me decide for the MOTU ultralite.

I mean i started this topic not knowing that so many people would love the use of motu with live.

Again, i only use live as my main and only daw.

And upto now i had two m-audio interfaces first a FW 400, which i saddly could not return.
And then i got the projectmix thinking it would be good, quite the opposite.
The worst piece of crap is the projectmix.

You have no idea the inmense relief i feel right now.

I will order the motu ultralite from musicians friend in about, let's see. 5 seconds. bye thanks

Ultralite & Live: could anyone help me?

Hello,

i am a newbie on this forum so first things first: hello to y'all 8) !

I just received my Ultralite and tried it with other DAW's(Windows PC): Cubase Studio 4,Tracktion + music through Itunes & Quicktime: really nice transparent and punchy sound.
Really happy 'bout that.
I also come from, like many on this topic, M-audio, and it definitely s*cks compared to the Ultralite.

BUT I don't have ANY sound coming out of Live 6.03? :(
There is meter activity, but that's it.
Checked prefs, activated ALL outputs in live to be sure(mono & stereo), and checked my channel settings as well.

Did anybody experience this with Live & Ultralite?
What could be the problem?

Thanks for helping,

Biggnikh

Select outs 11 and 12 on the motu for your main outs.

Hello Tarekith,

yes you're absolutely right, I got the habit of every main output being 1-2,
but it works with 11-12

Thank you very much, now I can get back to my music with Live,

Best,

Biggnikh

anyone know how it compares to an EMU 1820m interface? i have one and the routing is such a pain in the ass sometimes out of a DAW. trying to avoid phasing and all of that... ugh...
