I never did like it's scratching sounds actually, it's the chopping that does it for me.

I noticed that.

using it with a sugar bytes artillery as an effect after it is going to be my new live rig as soon as I work out the details, messing around with it today and it sounds sick.

Hey Sweets-
have you been rockin out Lucifer with the touchscreen, bet thats a hoot.
hey bro,

nah not yet,

my touchscreen interface is still in progress, after my first week of noodling around, ive come up with a format but getting the behaviour logic to work has been a hell of a lot of work.

ive finally nailed the interface for my overview and now i can focus on creating custom pages for effects and step sequencers ive got in the works.

its frustrating but i feel like ive overcome my major hurdle today when i nailed the UI and can start to link things to ableton and make bleeps and stuff

im not sure how i would use lucifer with a touchscreen. its quite good with the Remote SL.

See what ive done with the touchscreen is made certain things recallable immediately and load up into the remote SL and thats where i do my real work. the touchscreen just gets me from A-B withoput a mouse and without looking at ableton's interface yet still retaning control over everything.

dummy clips worked well with lucifer, theres a part of it i found where you can route things to generic midi cc's which means everythin that isnt already mapped out natively can be controlled in a fashion deemed suitable by the user.

then theres the different modes... pitch and quantize which let you do some musical glitches... all that is really fun to play with dummy clips setting things into motion and then jamming on the keyboard to twist it up.

I was thinking it would be fun with drawing the envelopes touchscreen style in lucifer. drink a bunch of coffee and get the finger shakin to the envelopes. Yeah, lucifer is actually set up automatically to recieve dummy clips too. so then you have the Dummy clip envelopes and the lucifer envelopes to mess with- really cool.

peace

the good news is - it does midi out too so you can use the graphs to control CCs.....yay we all scream....:D

the bad news is - I cant get it to work with Lives routing system :(

I believe the dev (or on of) is a Live user

cheers for this... interesting video

seems like some excellent control options

if I had a spare 99USD I'd give it a try for now I will have to make do with some kind of combos of Beat Repeat, D_Blue Gltich and Supatrigga

thanks for the link

I got the midi cc's to work partially. one midi track with lucify with effects set to send midi cc's, a second midi track set to recieve midi in from lucifer. the second midi track then sends out to IAC driver and then you enter mapping mode and map something to the midi coming out of IAC. the problem is it doesn't seem to follow the graph very well and it seems to just jump to new positions whenever it feels like it.

any ideas?

Is there a way to get Lucifer working on the Master ? Cos you have to route MIDI from your keyboard to it?

I've managed to put it on a Return track and route MIDI to that...?

heres the reply I got from the Dev about midi out being strange
Theres a small bug in CC output I need to track down at some point- raise the smooth knob of the corresponding graph sligtly above zero. That should clear up the "partial data getting sent".

heres the instructions for Live.

1) Lucifer on any track, Synth on another (MIDI) track
2) Synth MIDI Track: select "MIDI From:" (Lucifer Track)
you should see the word "Lucifer" appear below this track selection
3) enable "Effects" LED in Lucifer and select "MIDI CCs" from FX menu
4) for notes (which is a bit of a bonus really) you can select it at the top of the CC numberbox list (like you saw).
5) EACH GRAPH (Groove, Effects, Freq, Reso) has its own CC number, so when "MIDI CCs" is enabled, you actually have up to 6 CC's sending simultaneously.
6) draw on the desired graph, CC/note changes are sent when the graph value changes.

that sounds exactly like what I was trying but it didn't seem to work for me...

correct, it works, but it doesn't work well..... I was hoping I could send random midi CC's with lucifers random function but it doesn't seem to be drawing the right envelopes in abletons midi editor... it only updates every half bar but even still it's not even in sync

I find Lives recording of midi data from other software to be pretty sketchy, it seems to remove alot of data, even when importing data it turns smooth midi ccs into blocky squarized crap.
