Whats the point in that? Does monotouchlive use that much CPU that it needs its own computer?
You should really have a look at max/msp dude

some people actually wanna get things done!
Yeah, in a very convoluted manner.
Though i'm the guy who cant program in this thread, so I'll just shut up.
I'm just trying to learn some things here.
I don't understand shit about math, algebra and programming. Yet max makes sense to me.
From what I can tell from your remarks, programming in code must be much easier to you then max is.
Guess i'll have to make a transition from max to one of those "basic" languages one day.
At least i've mastered "hello world" and "how to make a link collector" so far

hoffman2k just read this:
History
Ableton Live is written in C++, with the first version was released in 2001 as a commercial piece of software. As of February 2007, the current version is 6.0.5. Contrary to popular belief, Live was not prototyped in Max/MSP, although it was used to model some of the audio devices, as explained by Live co-creator Robert Henke
Oh they use C++ ...... ableton guys are dinosaurs for that?
C++ (pronounced "see plus plus", IPA: [siː plʌs plʌs]) is a general-purpose, high-level programming language with low-level facilities. It is a statically typed free-form multi-paradigm language supporting procedural programming, data abstraction, object-oriented programming, generic programming and RTTI. Since the 1990s, C++ has been one of the most popular commercial programming languages.
Bjarne Stroustrup developed C++ (originally named "C with Classes") in 1983 at Bell Labs as an enhancement to the C programming language. Enhancements started with the addition of classes, followed by, among other features, virtual functions, operator overloading, multiple inheritance, templates, and exception handling. The C++ programming language standard was ratified in 1998 as ISO/IEC 14882:1998, the current version of which is the 2003 version, ISO/IEC 14882:2003. A new version of the standard (known informally as C++0x) is being developed.
THANKYOU WIKIPEDIA
hoffman2k nothing personal, but please understand the programing its related to how you feel with the tool you use for program.
You can use low level tools, or high level, all its ok, if you feel ok with the tool you use : )

The bug its fianlly fixed : )

from what i have seen of things made in max, its definately not an environment i would choose for making interfaces.

@grobe
Dude, whats your problem?
People are replying to your questions. And you just go mad. Like you just did with LOFA.
The stuff you just pasted still doesn't answer my post.
Did i say anything wrong about C++? I merely pointed out that programming with text makes less sense to me then with objects.
Sorry for letting that fact be known to the world. I'm a bad programmer!
Hell, i'm not even a programmer at all...
My apoligies, I'll let you get back to being inovative.
There are some good knobs you can rip from the upcoming audiodamage plugin.

Well, it all depends how you work.
You can use the built-in elements. Or make some yourself. Either by drawing out a mathematical representation on an LCD, Java objects or picture slider/knobs...

No man, i not mad or bad just for repply, just you insist in i should use MAX for long time......and i already explain why not.
Now i comenting about i builiding stand alone unit...and you atack with the ironic post "about cpu usage trouble"
All troubels i have, i usually epxlain in
www.monotouchlive.com log change data.....
And if you chek the log, i never post "this should run on stand alone amchien due cpu usage" : )
The repply i send to LOFA its just a joke, with a little of sarcasm, mate just that
I repply, my reasons about why i not use max and why i make my stand alone unit, you repply with joke about people using HIGH LVEL programing......
I not have trouble, with you with lofa, and with nobody....
I are good man, so like i say NOTHING PERSONAL MATE : )
But please no insist with MAX.......because i not use.....and not plain use.
You make some post time ago about you can do the same i made in monotouchlive, just in minutes with MAX ..wow man !! great congratulations for you.....just duet and be happy : )
And if you have some time, please go to this this post:
http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 318#432318 and please helpme, i no want fight with you or with anyone.
And really need answer to that, for me its 100% imposible !!
If you have the answer..........please i need your help : )

Dude, you edited your posts so many times that i don't even know what conversation i'm replying to. Screw this. Forget i said anything.
you repply with joke about people using HIGH LVEL programing......
All i asked was why running the software from a shell would be of any benefit.
It's bleeding MIDI, the least cpu intensive thing in the world....
I suggested max cause it works on both platforms and it can handle MIDI with hardly any dent in CPU usage. Not because it's higher or lower level.
Goodnight

why is it that i get a 1 returned when i start a clip? shouldn't it just be 126/127? regardless of whether loop is set on the clip or not.
the output (of the format [source, chan, num, vel]):
a MIDIOut
[ -36806543, 1, 1, 1 ]
[ 992073651, 1, 1, 126 ]
[ 992073651, 1, 1, 127 ]

Leonard, under loop, mode ableton no send normal status 126 and 127, just send 1 : (
I think this its configured very evry long time ago from abeton in this way and they never never improved.
About your answer, yes should be 126 and 127 like usual, and just change when loop region start to be played, or sorry for be repetitive with tha same, but ithis its the way:
This is the more simple way and incomplete:
Clip stop = 0
Clip play order = 126
Clip playing = 127
Track start play loop region = 1
Track end play loop region or loop desactivated = 127
An this is the mroe complete:
Clip stop = 0
Clip play order = 126
Clip playing = 127
If track ist playng and have loop enabled = 1 (override value 127)
Track start play loop region = 2 (note can make bar changes too, like actual mode do)
Track end play loop region or loop desactivated = 127

it's embarrasing, but here goes....
i had my note responder set to receive values from any channel, note velocity etc, so naturally it would respond to the midi i was sending out of supercollider, over iac, and back into my responder. been listening to this bloody g4's fan too long.....
