Understandable. All I can say is that I've never had any issues till just now. But then, if it's working for you, then you should prolly leave it alone. If I get a new card, I'll prolly ask for version 15, and then I'll prolly leave it the fuck alone.

yeah... maybe I should tie my hands ad wait till some urgent projects chill...
but I'll have to force myself into it

If you're at mission critical, don't fuck around. Leave well enough alone.

so here's a $300 mistake you will want to avoid...*sigh*
new cardbus ought to be here on thursday...it was best to get a new one rather than paying shipment and reprogramming charges...oh well...so much for the synths and plugins I was gonna buy this month...
at least now, I can report if the old drivers were indeed better, which I suspect is the case...if I can't go back to 6ms latency, I'll have to figure out another solution...
stay tuned

I realize that I write with a lot of elipses...I wonder if that will ever stop...

of course, you dipshit, that's just what Kirk always says to Spock. Spock says some mumbo jumbo Vulcan logic shit, and then Kirk turns to him, sharply, the lighting get all red, the camera angle is on a 30 degree tilt, the music goes weird, and Kirk says in his oh-so-Shatnerian way, "Explain!"

Well, I got a new Cardbus today...I just put it in and tested it out and sad to say that there are still pops and crackles at 6ms. I used a tool called PCI Latency Tool and adjusted the RME and the Cardbus bus latency to 64, and that helped a little, but it's still not as good as before. My analysis here is that it's my new laptop that's the culprit, not the RME.
Still, I'm stuck with it, so I'm gonna see if a firewire solution will be better, as 12ms is not acceptible.

Ok, this going into Device Manager and disabling the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" seemed to have helped a lot. Will keep you posted.
What seems to have helped further is to use a piece of software called PCI Latency Tool. Google it.
