Ok, found the problem i think.
The difference between your AMS files and others is the following:

The working files are .txt files with the .txt extension changed to .ams

The files you sent me are labeled as "TextEditor documents".

All i've done to "fix" the files you sent me is clicking a button in my texteditor that says "convert to plain text". Resaved the files under exactly the same name you used.

I've sent you the fixed files.

I really enjoyed your tutorials, but could you please explain a bit more how to generate basic waves, such as triangle saws and rectangles (although you did explain that one ) as I am a bit lost in the maths involved in this

To be honest, I didn't bother with learning the maths involved here. I just draw my waveforms in a Java applet and use those values to create AMS files.

All I really got is this:



Nik Reiman (Sqook) built it for me before he started working for a software company. Since then he hasn't had time to finish it.
The app in its current shape only works on OSX and isn't nearly as fancy as the one recently released for PC.

Its good to create a single AMS file manually in a list editor. It can take one AMS file and create a whole set from 0 to 127. But then it crashes or freezes and may need a force quit. So it isn't something I can just release into the wild.
On the other hand, its just sitting there and some people may not mind that it crashes all the time.
I'll see if I can get a hold of Sqook and ask if he minds if I make his app available.

I still have mams for osx if anyone's interested i can up it somewhere...
