i was just trying to poke a little fun at guitar center is all. not so much reason.
yeah..
my comment was more aimed at people who cannot frigging find the pencil in reason..
makes you wonder if they can even write at all?

Like wheels without a car.
ok, I overpriced reason a tad, hehe,
but you have to give it a bit more than just the wheels..
some essentials for me, that Live doesn't have..
draw/edit notes direct in the arranger..
see all automated parameters at once..
copy/paste user grooves..
scale/add velocity over a selected range of notes, and % alter and transpose them..
quantize notes above 1/16th..
drop clips on top of each other so they will merge..
LFO's!!

OK, let me talk to my boss...
Great news!! He'll let me throw in the clearcoat and upgrage to swinging cables, FREE!
About those Ableton wheels, did I show you the Beat Repeat? Chicks dig the Beat Repeat.

Have a sticker.
I've seen people do amazing things with Reason, it didn't jibe with me.

Excellent. Alarm set for 2 pm. I'll have my copy of Reason 3 waiting for me (4 if they search long enough), along with my gold plated MIDI to TRS cables and Line 6 Reason Edition wireless guitar port.

Here's something you can't do with Reason... use it without any external device. I don't own anything but a E-MU 0404 interface to get live audio in... everything else is sequenced in Ableton using the pencil tool. I downloaded a Reason demo one day and was immediately confronted with the fact that I couldn't do SQUAT with it until I went out and bought a keyboard or something.
The solution though was super easy...
DELETE
reason has a piano roll
can the piano roll receive audio input?

alls I know is I've tried to use reason by itself many times and the arranger and sequencing drives me bananas. rewiring with live makes it so easy to arrange stuff.
so in my opinion reasons sequencer is awful. but thats just my opinion.

reason is an enigma for me actually....
Oh, I want it........but I'm not a "midi only" guy........in fact, mostly opposite. So, the problem becomes the whole "rewire" thing. Um, I've got enough "how many plugs/vst's/au's/cpu-before DEATH problems...........
I'd love to have the drums (some 2.0 refill or something..........) those are something very nice indeed!
