I know it's "slow as shit" compared to the monster computers out there, but looking at it in a vacuum it's actually a very impressive machine.

It's a doorstop. Sell it and pony up the cash to get a macbook, or a macbookpro.

The g4 era gear is only going to depreciate more rapidly in value over time. Usually, apple computers have and good resale value, but the new intel stuff was a huge increase in performance and is fairly inexpensive (relative to what I paid for my g4 1.ghz new). So the g4 shit is worthless. Sell your g4 for what you can and upgrade.

like I said, upgrading simply can't happen right now, not while to bank is asking me to pay them. had to ask my parents to help me pay some bills, still owe my girlfriend $600. starting a business sure does put you in the hole hehe.

Even the Core Solo is so many times faster than the G4.

When G4s where the only choice on Macs, I tested Pentium M 1.7 laptops with a Live setup set to the same latencey.

The Pentium M (Which is basically a core solo) was like 6 times faster!!!

The Powerbooks maintain good resell value.

I would sell that PBG4 and get a low end mini.

Then you could upgrade the mini to a Duo later.
