Kid 'N Play!!!

Young MC.

Recent stuff that I used to snobbily scoff at but greatly respect now is Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds. The song writing is cool and the production - with Timbaland - incredible. I had no idea.

Also, top-40 hiphop/r&b stuff I used to scoff at, but now respect. production and groove - percussive, melodic, and vocal - are incredible in some songs.

I totally respect Justin Timberlake and like a lot of his music. He is one of the few survivors of the 90's pop mess and rightfully so. I really want to like Christina Agulara (sp? fuck it) but unfortunately she can't seem to find songs with hooks. What a waste of a great voice and I haven't really liked (remembered?) anything by her since Genie in a Bottle.

Yeah, there was, she pretty much missed the point IMO...the original song was about longing for a dream which could never come true, about a people so poor for generations all they had was the culture they could create... For Gwen, it's all about the bling. meh.
