I loved the ROME series though (both series). Outrageously silly in places, but great fun anyway.

I wonder whether Roman noble-women really had each other raped and tortured in their house/villa basements? Classic LOL.

Been watching this lately after reading this thread, pretty good series for sure. The one thing that bugged me though was that right when they switched actors for Octavian, his whole character changed as well. They made him out to be super smart and clued up on politics, then suddenly he's all cocky and making stupid decisions left and right. Not to mention the whole beating his wife thing, wtf?

Anyway, other than that, great series.

yes there will be a season two...

as for Octavian, I agree the actor should not have been changed...I hate when shows do that....as for beating his wife, that plot line was probably setting her up to be a vixen to be the new nemesis for the main vixen...and to establish that octavian needs to do some crazy shit to get his freak on.

Strangely, sex has been a lot better since I started beating my wife too...
