Really? There's like a dozen different ways to create distortion on that thing, nasty is usually the first word I think of when I think of my Evolver. Weird how we all view gear different, no?

Yea guess so!

My idea of nasty isn't just coming from adding distortion, it's coming from the oscillators as well. And the evolver has a pretty silky smooth oscillator sound, IMO. You can add distortion to almost anything and make it sound nasty. Just like you can sprinkle sugar on top of anything and make it sweet.

I mean when the raw sound of something is nasty even before you add any filtering, compression, or distortion, just think of where you can take it from there!

While we're talking effects, I also think the Virus's distortion sounds nastier than the evolver. I think it's because you can add a little at a time at differnent places in the signal chain. I also think it has something to do with how the saturation goes through the filters.
