I may sound bad but in my opinion it is so bad (as a reverb) that i cant even call it a reverb..
It may be useful and great for specific things (as a space moody fx etc) but this is an other story!

I had a demo of aether and it sounded great 2!!
I was ready to go for the group buy

BUT!
I had many 'loading time' problems to AL7 so i went 4 AAR
Also AAR seems to be much less cpu hog and i cant say that Aether was better (and no worse)!
In this league its very hard to say which 1 is better.

I think the best ones around right now are Aether and Redline Reverb. I'm less of a fan of AAR these days. It sounds great with certain things, but other inputs not so much. However I haven't bothered buying redline since it's so similar to Reaktor's Space Master (which I love and own). The only problem with Aether is that it uses way too much cpu when used in Stereo mode. Hopefully they can make it somewhat more efficient.

I also bought that 5 dollar Breverb with the room and plate algorithms. We'll see how that one is...

AETHER isn't a convolution reverb.. but is sounding... very 'real' to my ears...kinda scary..
Live is having a bit of trouble with mapping some controls...
(like all the controls under the B preset...but there are alternative ways to A/B...so I just use A...)

I am having mapping problems with Aether in Ableton Live 8.0.x as well. It seems that Aether does not support parameter automation at this moment. While Aether is still pretty much under development, Mr. Andrew Souter from 2C Audio assured many that the next version will have some more improvements and new things, as far as I remember from what I've read on KVR forums last month.

Aether Reverb is something I personally enjoy like no other software reverb. The CPU consumption mainly comes from using LR, but I find Late Reflections aren't always necessary. Try disabling them and it should get very light on the CPU.

I've been getting great results from the Ambience & Reverb plug from the Uhbik bundle.

Warmverb by Tone2 kicks ass, nice new reverse algorithm in the latest version as well.

Been finding that with Lives reverb, Uhbik's Ambience and 2C Audios Aether...I'm not looking at anything else

+1....ubhik is great. 'ambience' is my go-to verb.

live's reverb is terrible, i do use it, but only if i want that you can hear that "box" sound.

+1 for the unbelievable space designer... but you can't runn it in Live

OSX AU matrix reverb! and its free.

Here's what I use:

Reverence from Audio Damage, a $49 old school Lexicon clone.

Space Master Reverb in NI Reactor = huge!

Matrix Reverb AU in OSX

Space Designer in Logic, rarely, but if I need a convolution reverb.

Ambience by Magnus at Smartelectronix, donationware..

I'll eventually buy Altiverb, but the choices I have are fine.
I think Reverence is a no brainer at $49 and the Red Line looks good if you don't want or own Reactor.

I've got Reverence as well, but I never use it. I just don't think it's all the great actually. All of NI's reverbs are just better I think. There's a bunch of great reaktor ones, and also the Kore reverbs are not bad. I even Live's reverb occasionally. Although I don't think it's that good, sometimes it's surprisingly good on something. That plus the NI reverbs do it most of the time for me, plus Aether when I want something special. I've got Rayspace too and I never touch it anymore. Just sits there with reverence getting neglected.
