It seems incredible to me that someone would spend all that time drawing that pattern, and then not bother colouring in the gaps between the lines in all different colours.

Expect to see the E8 finding it's way into a huge number of posters destined for student bedroom walls.
You're right though, needs some decent colouring in, or the Mandelbrot shits all over it.
