Oh man, I'm so excited to try this out... has anyone tried this with the SL Compact yet? I just got my SL Compact yesterday hoping it would replace my BCF2000 in MCE. Then I ran into the same problems. I started to make my own template for the compact that would act like a mackie, but the display didn't work right. I'll let you know what I find after I get this going. Hopefully use on the SL Compact is just as good.

Mac only, darn... let me know if you get a windows version working. Do you know if the regular SL template will work on the compact? Thanks!

for compact win beta release
but I don't know that works
required MIDI yoke

click "M" on app to set MIDI port

-port example

<MCESL>
"to Host" > MIDI yoke 1
"from Host" > MIDI yoke 2

<Live's preferences>
control surface > mackie control
input > Midi yoke 1
output > Midi yoke 2

Awesome, I'll give it a try... can you give a little bit of step-by-step documentation as to what is needed to get this working? Even if it's just a little info it would help. I can rewrite detailed instructions for you after I run through it, if you like.

Can you recreate and reupload your zip file for compact windows mcesl? I think the archive is corrupt. I can open some files in the zip, but others won't open or extract properly. Thanks!

Great work Namihei! This is far better way to use the compact with ableton than the supplied template.

Just a couple of things..

-Could you explain the 'flip' function?

-Can you control plugin parameters without changing the template? I see there is a button labeled 'plugin' in your instructions but I can't work it out.
It just lists the track names on the top row and nothing on the bottom and the buttons/encoders don't appear to do anything.

-Perhaps it would be better to have the sends on 1 page (like pans). Maybe press then encoder group button multiple times to scroll through the available sends?

-Sometimes I end up in the 'returns' section of the mixer but I don't know how I got there or how to get back. Like I can't see my audio and midi tracks anymore, only Send A and Send B.

Cheers for the great work!

"flip" swaps V-pots with faders.so V-pots can control Volumes.

yes
1.select track
2.press "plugins" button (encoders c)
3.select a plugin(Button group select) with "Shift" button

sorry,I don't understand you said.sends appear on a selected track

button group4,channel2 button in a default preset is "Return" button.

button group4,channel2 button in a default preset is "Return" button.
Ok cool. Was thinking it was some sort of back button or enter key.

Yeah that would probably help. Didn't even think to look there. :oops: :)

I notice that button group 4 says Live's learn feature for port 1? What is the correct way to use this? It would be cool if I could use button group 4 to trigger specific clips. Do I need to modify the template manually?

Also, I can trigger clips & scenes with channel 7 & 8 in button group 4 but is there a way to move up & down ie select different scenes?

Thanks again for giving unit a free upgrade!

jogwheel(non press speed dial) or set port2,note C6(up),C#6(down) in group 4
