did you replace midi_settings file with the one in the archive?
Do you have the Drop-down "To Monome App" and Options->MIDI in MLR set to the same MIDI yoke bus?
I replaced the midi_settings file. All is coreectly yoked, otherwise nothing would work. On further inspection of the midi prefs inside mlr, and checking with midi-ox that the correct midi is being sent... well, seems like it's a problem with the version of mlr that I downloaded (2.27). Midi-ox tells me that the midi being sent corresponds to the cc's in mlr's pref's, so that's ok. In the mlr pref's winow there is a little midi monitor, which tells me that it is receiving midi input from the knobs. One thing I don't understand here is that there are three sets of double digits - the first is the value (0-127), the second the midi channel, but I don't know what the third is (I get 19 for the knobs, 171 in the note input box for the pads, which are working fine)
Anyway. it's a fun program (mlr I mean - not meaning to sound ungrateful since you've enabled me to use it) Is there any way, d'yeknow, to add further midi mapping to it, or will I have to hack something together with autohotkey?
hadn't really looked at the monome site before now, out of some kind of gear lust common sense. I will resist. Noticed on youtube that Duda is porting one of his monome apps to the padkontrol and microkontrol. Looks interesting.

.
you can use any midi controller to control these.
I actually had trouble getting the midi functionality as well. The padKONTROL doesn't work very well to control the track volume anyway

Could you be a bit more specific about what is troubling you. Also, What OS are you using?
- There is a bit of MIDI routing going on and I know someone who is new to using Max Runtime and MIDI Routing might get a bit overwhelmed with the whole thing. But Im more than happy to help get you going, just need a bit more info...

you don't need monomeserial. but you do need the latest version of the MAX/MSP runtime environment. Download and install this, then open _mlr with the max/msp runtime environment. first open monomulator, then launch max/msp

do you need to purchase max/msp since the trial only lasts 30 days?

no, you just need the runtime environment.. its a different download.. no demo
just download the "runtime" download...
i dunno if the full version reverts to the runtime after the demo is up, but it might

Thanks Mike Holiday for the help!
DPhouse, have you got this working yet?
Also, I dont think the Demo will turn into the runtime after it expires. But you can have the Demo ( or fullversion ) and the rutime on your system concurrently...
