make sure you disconnect/switch off any USB midi device when killing processes, otherwise Live won't shut down and you won't be able to reboot windows.

Beside the mandatory fix to turn off Sync on the Remote SL which works for both MME and DirectMusic there is another option to make it running better with MME: Go to Global options on your SL, turn "USBaTo" OFF. That means that you cannot use the Midi output interface of your SL, but it will decrease load in Live 7 considerably when sending Midi to the SL.

I will try to compare Novations drivers against Windows Standard USB Audio drivers later.

Have you tried setting the Remote's MIDI ports to MME
in Live's preferences? The easiest way to do this is to
delete your preferences file; Live will set all ports to MME
by default the next time you launch it.

cheers,
Jan

...wow that did the trick...now I get no pops and crackles with my remote sl

thanks Jan! :D

Where do I find the preferences file? I don't want to delete the wrong one?

MIDI Surface Controller support for Faderfox LV1, LX1, LV2, LX2, LC2 & LD2.
I am running Live7.0.1 with 3 faderfoxes.

Can someone please explaing what with update actually means?

Thanks.
It means, that there is an Automap-Protocoll for your faders now. You can use this under Preferences Midi/etc./Control-Surface. I use an LV2 and it is terrific. Now more Manual-Midi-Mappings.

Thanks Ableton. Big Kisses.
