Akai Drops the New MPC 5000 - sick

Cats are entitled to their opinion, but I that piece sounds very good to me. I dig it, and I've never owned or used an mpc. I might grab this one.

it is just sad that the 5000 is just a "phrase sampler". no akai multisampel import, no loop smoothing, etc.... this and the 24bit ad's are what really sets the 4000 apart from the other mpc's. Maybee there is hope that akai will work on this in the future. If they try to go for a "all in one box" (synth, harddisk, sampling) I just can't see why they do not include a "real sampler"....

I was thinking about purchasing a MPC1000 before Akai announce the 5k model.

I wanna ask what's the advantage of an MPC over using Live? Many people say it's the workflow, but since I don't own one and nobody close to me own one, I can't try or tell whether it's really useful.

Is an MPC a really a weapon to achieve:
1) ease of composing?
2) good/punchy sound?
3) faster workflow?

Also, could anyone advice me what's so good on the workflow for using an MPC?

i hope you know that this is a 16 bit sampling unit not a 24 bit unit like the mpc 4000.
