Henke - don't tell me you own those?

exactly.
but then you beg for acceptance...

it's OK to beg for sex, but begging for acceptance on an internet forum is shameful, even for a 37 year old.

You could check out the Tannoy Reveal monitors. They are in your price range.

I checked out the new TITBAGs everyone is raving about. They can sound nice if connected carefully, but they are not entirely linear and finding a matched pair is almost impossible. Not that you cannot work with them, but I prefer my Genelec 8040s and Gin&Tonic pre amps.

Hi,
I also intend to buy monitor speakers around the same pricerange and already went to the shops and booked time to properly listen a few models.
So from personal experience here is my preference so far: Dynaudio BM6, Adam A7, Genelec 8020. The BM6 are incredible (full, clean, balanced in the entire spectrum) but a bit more expensive. Fortunately the Adam A7 are pretty close - a bit on the mid-range of the audio spectrum but this can be a very good thing when mixing as it can help placing sounds on the canvas

. The Genelecs not bad but they are colouring the lows a bit. I also intend to listen the BM5 and the Mackie HR624 and compare them back with the Adam before I make a decision . (all in the same pricerange)
On the lower range you should check the yamaha hsm80m and the fostex pm1.
