Sad state of hip hop

I assume that many, if not most, of the major label execs are white, but in terms of producers I was under the impression many if not most were black.
And I'm talking the radio stuff, not more indie or underground. Again, a question.djadonis206 wrote:To answer your question one of the most sought after producers in the hip hop underground and above ground is

Black parents compared to who? White parents, asian parents, somali parents?Sleep Tyght wrote: And for the record...why the fuck do black parents even ALLOW their children to watch BET? That's just fucked up parenting...fucked up BLACK PARENTING to be exact. I'll say this again and again. If you want the NIGGA SHIT in rap music to go away...it starts with the black community. Whether it's FUBU, G-UNIT, excessive TOMMY HILFIGER/NAUTICA GEAR....once we stop supporting unnecessary shit with our dollars and move on to the next trend/phase/style...

If course it's only fair for you to have an opinion and your opinions should one celebrated but it's a very elitist opinion. Especially, since its so insensitive to say black parents who let their kids watch TV are bad parents
it's actually quite offensive - to black people
What I read from your post is black people should be more like some other make believe people who are in some make believe way perfectly normal
...and black people shouldn't celebrate their own diversity because it makes us look bad, like "niggas"
...we shouldn't wear certain clothes, rap about certain things, watch certain shows, associate with certain people because it makes us look like "niggas"
the word look implies "someone" is watching and we have get acceptance from that make believe "someone, " who is in some class of people above us
we need to be true to ourselves, no matter where we come from
what's that one electro indie techno act
Does it offend you, yeah?

I'm one of the few who doesn't like Nas and thinks he has been one of the most overated cats in the rap biz. (And yeah, I think Jazy-Z won that battle years ago). Anyway, I bought this track after seeing him do it on MTV's New Year's Eve show, I thought it was pretty bangin'. After getting it and really checking it out...yup, once again Nas pulled a Nas. Primo can only do so much to help his wack lyrics and delivery.kb420 wrote:

can't comment on his newest stuff but Illmatic - when Nas first came out the box, was pretty revolutionary (IMO)jamester wrote:

but ya see son, I've been listening to a lot, I mean A LOT! of Trick Daddy lately so...
...what would I really know about hip hop
