softserv wrote:So, a poll: of all the commerical hip-hop producers out there, what percentage would you say are white? I honestly have no idea. I assume that many, if not most, of the major label execs are white, but in terms of producers I was under the impression many if not most were black.

And I'm talking the radio stuff, not more indie or underground. Again, a question.

I'll say this again and again. If you want the NIGGA SHIT in rap music to go away...it starts with the black community. Whether it's FUBU, G-UNIT, excessive TOMMY HILFIGER/NAUTICA GEAR....once we stop supporting unnecessary shit with our dollars and move on to the next trend/phase/style...

Black parents compared to who? White parents, asian parents, somali parents?

If course it's only fair for you to have an opinion and your opinions should one celebrated but it's a very elitist opinion. Especially, since its so insensitive to say black parents who let their kids watch TV are bad parents

it's actually quite offensive - to black people

What I read from your post is black people should be more like some other make believe people who are in some make believe way perfectly normal

...and black people shouldn't celebrate their own diversity because it makes us look bad, like "niggas"

...we shouldn't wear certain clothes, rap about certain things, watch certain shows, associate with certain people because it makes us look like "niggas"

the word look implies "someone" is watching and we have get acceptance from that make believe "someone, " who is in some class of people above us

we need to be true to ourselves, no matter where we come from

what's that one electro indie techno act

Does it offend you, yeah?

I'm one of the few who doesn't like Nas and thinks he has been one of the most overated cats in the rap biz. (And yeah, I think Jazy-Z won that battle years ago). Anyway, I bought this track after seeing him do it on MTV's New Year's Eve show, I thought it was pretty bangin'. After getting it and really checking it out...yup, once again Nas pulled a Nas. Primo can only do so much to help his wack lyrics and delivery.

can't comment on his newest stuff but Illmatic - when Nas first came out the box, was pretty revolutionary (IMO)

...and I don't think Nas and Jay-Z are competing for anything anymore - so the Jay-Z video would tell me

but ya see son, I've been listening to a lot, I mean A LOT! of Trick Daddy lately so...

...what would I really know about hip hop ;)

I think Illmatic's the only reason he's gotten any respect. Every other album since has sucked. Oh yeah and he's Quincy Jones' nephew, so that doesn't hurt.

That's not poetry, that's really bad grammar (on my part)

disregard the last thing I wrote there - really really bad, poor grammar...it's kind of embarrassing.

Which station is White Entertainment Television on?
Ableton’s engineers are hard
at work developing code that will allow our software to predict the future, but we don’t
anticipate having this available until at least the next major release.
