I catch whatever I can, I get Fox Soccer Network which shows the German league, South American leagues, European leagues, EPL, all that.
...and to those who say the US can't play futbol - the US women have won the World Cup TWO of the five times it's been played. suck eggs Eurotrash, learn the sport!
you beat me to it. Its only a matter of time before the mens usa team starts winning as much as any of the other power teams, theyll still have cricket and rugby though.

hahahahahah lmao.
oops, that was Poster I made that snarky comment to.
if there was a lesson from the last World Cup the US men's team had to learn it was physical play. it was the most penalized Cup ever (BULLSHIT GERMAN REFS FTL) but the physical play wasn't there, it threw them off, bricks for feet. then there's the Italians, total assholes, and they won for it.

I'm hoping to watch the replay of the Netherland/Italy game right now, it was supposed to start 49 minutes ago. the TV listing shows 'Euro 2008', but they're showing 'ESPN NASCAR Now', a whole fecking hour of it. pwnage is ensuing, by NASCAR. motherfucking NASCAR.

yay USA. NASCAR - hint: turn left!!!

Kudos to the Dutch! I fucking hate Italian soccer - bunch of pansy floppers.
And in line w/ Tone Deft, U.S. mens football (soccer) was ranked 9th in the world only a few years ago. We currently stand at 21st but what do you expect when we only compete in the Olympics and World Cup every 4 years. Plus, the U.S. is almost 1/3 Mexican now, which means of a bright future of good footballers. We also have the largest youth football program in the world. Give us 25 yrs. and you'll see some action.

Ah, I feel your pain. I remember trying to watch the Rugby World Cup here in Germany - supposedly live coverage was interrupted by handball, basketball, under-21s ultimate frisbee and other such diversions...
Hope you get to watch the replay somehow, it was a great match. The second goal was incredible. Great goalkeeping from both sides too. Buffon stopped it being 4 or 5-nil. You can safely skip France-Romania, that was 90 minutes of my life wasted, watching that dull grind...
I think tonight will be dull - I'm off wakeboarding instead!

I'm an American who loves soccer... I don't watch nearly as much as I'd like to but I always dig the Euro and World Cup... The Olympics of soccer.
Anyone catch that little Euro 2008 techno-tune they play when they come back from commercials? It's pretty "cute"!
Anyways, yeah soccer... my ancestory is Croatian so maybe that has something to do with why I'm into it... dunno. I will be pumped up when we play Germany on Thursday!

Knocking the Italians is just a case of tall poppy syndrome. Most people want to see the top side lose. A bit like knocking Americans because their country is the number one superpower. I wouldn't dismiss them just yet. If they don't win their next game, which they should do, then obviously they can pack their bags home.
I still believe they will make the final and even win it. They might have lost 3-0, but they weren't crap.
Keaton always said, "I don't believe in God, but I'm afraid of him." Well I believe in God, and the only thing that scares me is Keyser Soze.

How did they look good if they lost 3-0 against a team they were favored to win against? I figured this match to be a draw and for Italy to come out (healthier) in their second game and win. Now, I'm not sure.
I really don't care about Italy though...

I'm not sure on the first round rules but doesn't having 3 goals against you with no goals against your opponents make it really hard to recover from (i.e. not make it out of first round play)? The announcers were basically saying the Netherlands are almost assured a spot in the next round while this Italian loss would almost definitely doom Italy's chances of moving on. Plus they have France to face.
