Thats almost exactly how we picked the winner. We assigned points based on Originality - Sound Design - Mix.

But there are plenty of flaws to point out about this competition, I'll grant you that.
Given that it was our first competition, the rules were a lot more messy than they should have been. For example, a rule about naming the file would have saved us a lot of additional work.

And we definitely took the various types of compositions in mind. But again, the only rules were restricted sounds and a 60 second limit.
Within that context and the given rules, Krzysztof still stood out.

Anyway, the point is that we learned a lot and still have a lot to learn.
The winners we have now were chosen from the rules and parameters we've set.
With other rules, the same winning tracks might not have done so well. Thats just the way it goes. Given the agreement on the results from the other competitors, we're confident that we made the right choices.

This compo.. was freaking cool.....

For me the only problem was that my daughter got married in the time that it was running so.... I could'nt take part sob sob...

Anyway CONGRATS to Krzysztof! REal cool stuff..

It was totally great to hear what everyone did, really inspiring!!.. glad it wasn't me who had the choose the winner..

Can't wait for the next one... Maybe I'll enter!

Ya, that's right. I've posted more sounds on this forum than you & Tone Bereft COMBINED.

Back to the case at hand. My point is about the selected winner out of a fixed group of entries. It's got nothing to do with my sounds, or yours. It's the fact their choice seemed majorly skewed to me. It seems to me they forgot the stipulations they made upon the entrants. The winner is an intro, whilst the runners-up tried to fit a composition within the given time-frame.

getting back on topic here, ladies; main focus was on sound design. K won that part easy. Whether or not one gets the impression that it's an introduction to something bigger doesn't detract from the fact that listening to it (without the "rest") is thoroughly enjoyable and geeky and everything we wanted the competition to be. So let us shower the guy with crap now, aight?

Y'all were pretty damned fast to pounce on bounce (rhyme'o'the'day), but at least *he* was on topic...
