my roland w-30. i only had that to begin with and still use it today,
but more as a controller keyboard and trashing stuff through it.
taught me a lot about midi, sequencing, patching etc..
it also pushed me creatively by squeezing tracks out of its 14 sec sampling limit @30khz or 28 sec @15khz.
i suppose i learned the most about sampling by using it.

yes absolutely.
ket mixed with e is my all-time fave cos you have the trippy "are we all one consciousness?" shit, but you have the energy and alertness to DO something rather than sit in a whole trying to hold on to one thought at a time.
but really i think most of my stuff is based around piano, although i am forcibly trying to change my sound to be based around guitar, at least for the time being.

Having access to 2 keyboards at once, preferably stacked.
I mean "splits" on one keyboard are cool, but the random combining of 2 keyboard patches for chord and melody is better and always inspiring.

what so you'll play a tune over drums with one keyboard and then use the other to lay a different melody over that?
that might sound sarcastic or something but really, that sounds like a good idea and i just wanted to clarify.
