Of course. Maschine's sampling/resampling capabilities are far superior to Live. You can even automate it so that it starts resampling at the top of the next bar, stop recording after the number of bars you specify, in sync with the tempo, so that it makes a clean cut loop, and have it kick in at the top of the next bar, all while the sequencer is playing.
That's great news. Thanks. I just was afraid, I'd have to open each and every clip with an external Sample editor and save it as a wav file in order to use it with Maschine.

How the heck-a-doodle-do do you do that? Resampling is AWESOME.

Got the serial number sorted. Here's a tip to the people that buy an open boxed / used Maschine...

Try to buy used from an actual music store/dealer of Native Instruments. NI wouldn't help me out with the "serial already in use", they said I had to have the store do it. Guitar Center called NI up, and got it reset. If you buy it used from a person, make sure you trust them in resetting the serial. It's up to you to get the person that sold it to reset it...

Pretty easy, first of all set the input of a sound to input, now put a hit at full velocity on the first beat of the bar and set the pattern length to the same as you want to sample. Then in the sampling section make sure that its set up to sample from the internal source. Now select sync mode for the sampling method and set the bar length to the same length as the pattern length. Finally hit start, it will now resample the sound for the length specified and then start playing it.

Oh and make sure that you've got solo ready as you'll probably want to solo the sound once the samples recorded so that you don't hear it twice...

Hope that helps

Hi Jake,

when I asked about the resampling function, I meant if it was possible to route a track output of Live into the sample input of Maschine. The goal is to somehow transfer audio from Live's clips into Maschine. It would be great if you could check that out.

How about tabletop clamp stands for Maschine?

Found this...
Spacetek - too expensive?
Lindy Notebook Arm

Will Maschine fit on either of those? That second one looks like it might be too small. If anyone has either of these it would be great to get some insight.

Yes, you can have Maschine in Live and route Live's clips into Maschine to sample.

This thread rocks. Thank you. Me wanny-likey drum machine! I've got absolutely no more room for this box, but SubFunks' and other's descriptions of their experiences make me know I would love it to death and have to have it. I'll give Mr. Linn just a little while longer and then fuck it, it's Maschine!

It's ultimately about whether you need it and not how other people view it.

It's the tits. And @ss, And it has soul. Why does it matter what other people think? Maschine excels at injecting some wildness into making music. I've been playing beats and programming in a grid "Successfully" for 12 years and am so sick of the hackery geek workarounds with various controllers that always took me away from what I'm into. Music.

Friends/successful producers I've talked to with negative opinions are, funnily enough, mainly progressive house producers, or refugees from that scene. The type that just like to go by a formula, and program a boring hit in a grid, with a mouse. zzzzzzzzzz

Damn I love Maschine. Probably more than Live now and I've been using it since the good ol' days of Wildstyle.
