First install qtlite so your mp3s dont corrupt
you can set your userscripts in users/user/appdata/roaming/ableton/live(V)/preferences/user remote scripts
also last asio4all
working nice in I3 4mg ram ddr3 w7 64

Stumbled on this.
Basically its a method for extracting all the hits/samples out of a loop.
The video althogh quite short shows the procedure.
I am sure there's other ways to achieve the same results but this method works ok.
Really good for slicing short loops. limited to 128 slices ...more than enough for short loops.

Finally figured out a smooth workaround for the horrible, horrible Rewire delay. I use Reason for almost all my drums and synths, and have historically used Live for basic audio recording and all MIDI sequencing. Well, a 15-20ms delay on vocals isn't a huge deal, but now that I'm using a lot more of Live's audio, bouncing shit back and forth between programs and mixing and matching drum hits and kits between various Drum Racks and my Reason samplers, the lag has been making my game SLOPPY. Track delays don't do it, and I can't just set up a template with all the delays set where I want them, because when I start a project and I'm recording live audio and MIDI, I want it to be quick snappy, with a small buffer...but as the project gets bigger and there are more devices and more automation, and I don't really care about latency, and it starts to get sluggish, I'll bump up the buffer quite a lot to make playback smooth. I don't want to go manually fiddling with delays on all my audio tracks every time I fuck with the buffer, do I?
So i made two sets of busses.
Is the rewire delay still an issue? I was seeing threads talking about it being an issue in v6 but cleared up with 7 and the external instrument. I'm interested b/c I've been rewiring Live into Logic mainly for sampling and a few days ago broke out Reason and had a blast running Reason rewired into Live, mainly b/c the external instrument is so cool (Reason automation available in Live). I did notice a substantial delay when trying to lay down some drums from Reason doing midi in Live at one point but generally didn't notice it.
I'm kind of a timing nut so instead of a big workaround like described above if this is an issue I'll just probably stay mostly inside Logic which is pretty rock solid timing wise. That Reason / Live combo is killer but I hate janky timing.

definitely an issue. i got reason 4 and the newest version of Live, and it's always out of sync by (near as i can tell) the exact number of samples in the buffer. it sucks, but reason's worth it. one of these days i'm sure they'll get around to fixing it.

how to arm / mute the track you have highlighted (and do other things) with your qwerty keyboard...
you need a virtual midi cable installed first.
(on windows) midiyoke

in lives preferences / midi sync tab:
control surfaces: tranzport in from midi yoke 1 none
midi ports: input tranzport input(in from midi yoke 1) on on on
output out to midi yoke 1 on on on
create and arm a new midi track:
midi from: computer keyboard
ch 1
midi to: out to midi yoke 1
ch 1
Activate 'computer midi keyboard' (ctrl + shift + k)
push letter 'v' a bunch to get velocity to 127
push letter 'z' a bunch to get to lowest octave c-2 to d-1
now use your qwerty arrow key to select another track besides your new midi track
and push the letter 'a'
that should have you armed now and in style!
push 'x' once to raise an octave then letter 'd' to mute
there are some other things you can control now with this so experiment.

If you have trouble automating Guru in Live 8, here is the solution:
There's a workaround which at least gives you access to the first 128 plugin parameters: Create a plain text file in Live's preferences folder with the name "Options.txt" and add the following string to the file:
-_PluginAutoPopulateThreshold=-1
You can find the preferences folder the following way:
1. Go to Live's "Help" menu.
2. Choose "Get Support".
3. Click "SHOW the preferences folder" (at the right).
With this option enabled, Live will always populate the plugin parameter list with the first 128 parameters of a plugin. Note that this is a global setting, i.e. it affects all plugins.
One other thing you can add to options.txt. If you have missing files on your set and live's search is coming up empty, even though you know the files exist, try adding this:
-_RelaxFileManagerSearch

and the right arrow opens highlighted folder / previews file
